Hello from the Watersportbaan
RowFi is a rowing game for the Concept2 RowErg. You row on your own erg, and a single sculler rows your session on a painted copy of the Watersportbaan in Ghent: the real 2 km course, its six lanes, its bridges and the clubs along its banks.
It isn't a race. There is no leaderboard and no countdown. You start rowing and the clock starts; you stop, and your rower has a drink. The light is warm, lo-fi music plays, and the ducks, runners and cyclists go about their day. It's meant for the long, steady kilometres that make up most of a rower's training, when a screen full of numbers gets old.

The erg is the truth
The game reads the PM5 over Bluetooth, stroke by stroke, and the boat sits exactly at the PM5's distance. Nothing in the game adds or takes away a metre. The rower's stroke is built from your own: the catch, the drive, the finish and the recovery, at your rate. Every finished session goes to your own Concept2 Logbook.
Where it stands
RowFi is playable on an Android tablet next to the erg, and on a Windows desktop. The Logbook uploads work against Concept2's development server, while RowFi waits for its approval for the live Logbook.
What comes next
- More life round the course: busier bridges, runners and cyclists the whole way round.
- The other clubs' boathouses as alive as GRS's.
- A logo, and a new look for the menus.
- The live Logbook, and then a first version for other rowers to try.
