Privacy
In short: RowFi has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. The game keeps your settings on your own device, and sends your sessions only to your own Concept2 Logbook, when you ask it to.

This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The site sets no cookies and counts no visitors. The fonts and the pictures come from the site itself, not from Google or any other service.
- The video loads from YouTube (
youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play. From then on, Google's privacy policy applies to the video. - The host, Render, may keep the usual technical logs of requests, such as the IP address, to run and secure its service. RowFi doesn't use them.
- If you write, your e-mail address and your message are used only to answer you.
- If you donate, PayPal handles the payment under its own privacy policy. RowFi sees what PayPal shows the receiver: your name, your e-mail address, the amount and your message.
The game
On your device. The game keeps its settings on the device: your name and 2K time (for your training zones), the rower and weight class you chose, the view, the mood, the music and the quality. Finished sessions wait on the device until they are uploaded. Nothing leaves the device unless you connect your Logbook.
Your erg. The game reads your PM5 over Bluetooth, on the device itself: distance, time, pace, stroke rate, drag factor, and your heart rate when a heart rate monitor is paired with the PM5.
Your Concept2 Logbook, when you connect it in Settings:
- You sign in on Concept2's own page. RowFi never sees your password.
- A small server of RowFi's (
rowfi-auth.onrender.com, on Render) swaps Concept2's sign-in code for your tokens, because that needs a secret that can't be kept safe inside an app. It hands the tokens straight back to the game and keeps nothing: no database, no tokens, no sessions. It logs only which of its pages was asked for. The game also wakes it as it starts, so it is ready by the end of your session, and asks it to renew your tokens when they run out. - The tokens are stored encrypted on your device. Sign out in Settings forgets them.
- The game reads your name from the Logbook once, to show "Signed in as …".
- The game sends each finished session of at least 100 m and a minute to your Logbook, straight from your device: the date, the distance, the time, the average stroke rate and the number of strokes, your average and highest heart rate if there is one, the drag factor, your weight class, and a comment such as "RowFi · Watersportbaan Gent · Sunny". What happens to it there is up to you and Concept2's privacy policy.
The game sends nothing else, to nobody else.
Your data, your say
